TOPIC
Day 1 of 14 launch plan starts today

Hey folks, not much to share this week feature-wise, but a do have some updates content-wise with my launch plan for Pingem.

Or rather, β€œsoft” launch plan

Over the weekend I spent most of my energy fine-tuning the details of how I would announce to my LinkedIn audience the app I’ve been building.

Long-story short, I settled at a 14 day posting plan and today marks day 1.

More details below if content strategy is something you’re interested in.

Why 14 days

I chose 14 because it matches the typical β€œsprint” that product teams go through.

In PM terms, a sprint is a 2 week duration where devs, designers, and PMs focus on working towards a set goal.

Now, that goal can either be a new feature, a few bug fixes, or anything in between.

For me, this personal sprint’s goal will be the soft launch of Pingem.

Why a β€œsoft” launch

Soft launch is just my way of saying a beta release.

So far, we’re at about 42 users from me just talking about the app through this newsletter and DM-ing people. Some might think that’s the beta itself, but it was more like the alpha.

A way for me to validate theories about the product’s value, which was super helpful btw.

For instance, the alpha phase told me to kill the voice to email dictation I had going, which lead to a whole rebrand of SayMail; Pingem’s previous name.

If alpha is meant to test concepts, then beta is meant to see if those concepts work with a real sample size audience.

For the beta, I’m opening another 100 accounts, this way I can manage API costs.

My 14 day content strategy

Obviously I can’t spoil the topic of the upcoming 14 posts, but what I can say is that they’ll all be about cold emailing.

We’re talking pain points, personal stories, and success stories me or other people have had with emailing our way to jobs.

For the first 7 days, the post will be pure value, so I’ll barely mention Pingem in those, I want to build up a story before showing the product.

Then, for the last 7 days, I’ll slowly amp up mentioning Pingem and what it does.

Though, I probably won’t include links to sign up until the last 3 days.

So…what’s next?

Just posting, really.

At this point, I have days 1 - 3 fully ready, day 1 went live about 10 mins ago.

Over the next few days I’ll spend time batch writing the other posts. Hopefully they go well, I’ve been writing on LinkedIn for over a year, but this is my first time doing a series like this.

I guess only time will tell.

That’s all for today. If you enjoyed this post, share it with a friend!

If they subscribe, I’ll send you my personal AI coding doc!

See you next Tuesday 🀝
