TOPIC
Day 7 of 14: The first real update

Hey folks,

Seven days in. This is the halfway point.

Last week I told you I was kicking off a 14-day LinkedIn content sprint to soft launch Pingem.

Today, I'm giving you the honest mid-point check-in, what's working, what surprised me, and a side quest I accidentally started along the way.

Let's get into it.

+125 followers in 7 days

As of writing this, I've picked up about 125 new followers since the sprint started and generated 75,159 views.

I tell you this not to brag (these aren’t crazy numbers), but to let you know that this sprint has reignited something in me.

I forgot how to show up on LinkedIn

Since the new year, I'd been pretty inconsistent on LinkedIn. Posting maybe once every week or two. Nothing intentional, just... drifting.

But the habit I lost that hurt even more than posting? Engaging with comments.

Commenting on other people's posts is arguably just as important as posting yourself on LinkedIn.

The algorithm rewards engagement signals. When you comment on a post, your name surfaces to an entirely new audience. Every comment is a micro post.

❝

Studies have shown that LinkedIn comments can drive 3–5x more profile views than a standalone post with similar reach. The engagement loop is real.

I'd completely let that muscle atrophy And doing this 14-day sprint has made me realize just how much of a hurdle it is to restart it.

So as a side quest to posting this 14-day series, I ended up building a minor tool.

The side quest: Sift

Okay, so here's where it gets fun.

Trying to rebuild my commenting habit got me thinking: what if I could make this easier?

That thought turned into a weekend build. I'm calling it Sift.

Here's what sift does:

Sift is a Google Chrome extension that reads your LinkedIn feed as you scroll.

It injects a subtle button next to each post. When you click it, it generates three different comment angles tailored to whatever post you're reading.

↳ One might be an insight add-on
↳ One might be a personal story angle
↳ One might be a direct question to spark conversation

Basically, it’ll help you comment faster.

So…what’s next?

I'm going to keep running this as a personal experiment for the next couple of weeks alongside the 14 day sprint.

If it moves the needle on engagement and following even more, I'll write a full post about it and potentially open it up publicly.

Who knows. Could be the next thing I build out properly.

For now, it's my secret weapon. 🀫

That’s all for today. If you enjoyed this post, share it with a friend!

If they subscribe, I’ll send you my personal AI coding doc!

See you next Tuesday 🀝
