TOGETHER WITH PACASO
The key to a $1.3T opportunity
A new trend in real estate is making the most expensive properties obtainable. Itβs called co-ownership, and itβs revolutionizing the $1.3T vacation home market.
The company leading the trend? Pacaso. Created by the founder of Zillow, Pacaso turns underutilized luxury properties into fully-managed assets and makes them accessible to the broadest possible market.
The result? More than $1b in transactions, 2,000+ happy homeowners, and over $110m in gross profits for Pacaso.
With rapid international growth and 41% gross profit growth last year, Pacaso is ready for whatβs next. They even recently reserved the Nasdaq ticker PCSO.
But the real opportunity is now, before public markets. Until 5/29, you can join leading investors like SoftBank and Maveron for just $2.80/share.
This is a paid advertisement for Pacasoβs Regulation A offering. Please read the offering circular at invest.pacaso.com. Reserving a ticker symbol is not a guarantee that the company will go public. Listing on the NASDAQ is subject to approvals. Under Regulation A+, a company has the ability to change its share price by up to 20%, without requalifying the offering with the SEC.
TOPIC
This student got an internship in 19 days!

Every so often, I get a cold message so good, I feel the need to share it.
Because cold outreach is the hardest part of networking and we often lack good examples of how do to it.
Most people get it wrong.
They make their messages generic, they ask for referrals too soon, and they make it all about themselves.
But when cold messaging is done right, the results happen fast.
One such example was sent to me on May 8th.
It was from Michael Ong - a University of Toronto student.

His message was pretty good:
He mentioned relevant pension experience
He tailored his message to me
He made his request simple - just a coffee chat
But thatβs not why I replied.
I replied because he pointed out what we had in common:
We were both named Michael, and we both interned at the same previous company.
This subtle detail might seem insignificant, but it made the difference.
The message feel like it came from a friend, not a stranger.
And thatβs what got me to reply.
In our coffee chat he continued to impress me.
He showed real curiosity, back it up with examples, and asked really good questions.
In fact, by the end of the call, I offered to refer him myself
This wasnβt just any referral either, I personally emailed the recruiter and hiring manager to vouch for him
Then, just yesterday, I got an update from Michael.

He landed a fall internship with our Capital Marketβs team as a data analyst!
I wasβ¦as they say in LinkedIn termsβ¦βthrilled.β
But I wasnβt surprised.
When you network smart and right, the results come naturally.
The big picture
Michael Ongβs cold message is a great example of how to reach out to people.
If you're cold messaging someone, donβt overlook the power of shared experiences.
Find anything you have in common with them.
It could be going to the same school, studying the same field, playing the same sport, or having the same first name.
People are far more likely to reply to those they feel familiar with.
Next Tuesday, Iβll release a recorded interview with Michael Ong to hear more about his job searching process - stay tuned!
Thatβs all for today. If you enjoyed this post, share it with a friend!
If they subscribe, Iβll send you a coffee chat guide!

See you next Tuesday π€
