Turning chats into offers

It’s Week 3 of Inbox to Offer: The 4 email series where I document building an all-in-one PDF guide to get you hired in 3 months or less.
(To see the previous weeks, go to www.theleapsprint.com)
Today’s email is going to be a bit of a quicker read.
Just as I was getting better from my cold, I get hit with a stomach virus. I haven’t been able to hold anything down other than bananas and congee.
The worse part of all this is how tired I’m always feeling.
It’s been taking my time away from writing, and making this guide.
If I’m not better by this week, I might just extend this series by 1 more week.
Enough of a health rant though, I managed to make progress on the guide.
Let’s dive into what I worked on.
Recap of last week
Last week, we talked about cold emailing.
This section will probably be the longest one. From knowing who to contact, how to contact them, and when, it’s a lot of steps.
Easy to follow steps, but a good amount.
As a refresher, these will be the 3 defined sub sections:
Finding people to contact
This part will have you create your ideal contact list, and walk you through how you should be finding people to message
Strategies for finding emails
This part will uncover ways to find people’s emails, even if they’re privately listed on LinkedIn
How to write a good email
This part will have you follow along as we create a cold email from scratch
What I worked on this week
Due to the sudden stomach flu, I haven’t fully completed the coffee chat section yet, but it’s half way there.
Here’s a rundown of the 3 sub sections currently in progress.

No picture of me this week lol
The first sub section is “Nailing the 1st coffee chat,” here, I’ll list high impact questions you should be asking at certain stages of a conversation.
Think:
what to ask in the first 10 minutes
what to ask at the 20 minute mark
what to ask at the 30 minute mark
Next is “Scheduling follow up chats.”
A struggle I see often isn’t with the initial chats, but keeping the connection alive past that.
This section will give you 2 strategies for how to do this.
“Making “the ask” is the last part that answers this:
How do I ask for help without seeming desperate?
Networking without seeming too transactional is an important skill, and this section will teach you how to do so.
Closing notes
The back-to-back colds delayed my progress.
Whether or not we’ll need a week 5, I’ll announce next Tuesday.
That’s all for today. If you enjoyed this post, share it with a friend!
If they subscribe, I’ll send you a coffee chat guide!

See you next Tuesday 🤝
